I wasn't very active on mainstream social media for a few years. Instead, I was participating more on other forums and image boards that are not worth mentioning, and I observed an increasing trend of people becoming whiny little bitches. I didn't know what people liked anymore; all they ever talked about was what they could hate. A bunch of grown-ass men complaining all day long about the skin color of some character on some children's cartoon or some silly remake that they don't realize they are not forced to watch at all. On all of these sites, it was just people bitching every day and night. Their whole passion and hobbies became that: being triggered by stupid stuff. You want to talk about a show you liked? No room for that, let's hate whatever new thing is in production, because that's what is fashionable... Anyway, that was my reason for starting this site. There is so much fantastic stuff around, and I wanted to share it all.
I spent some months saving screenshots and videos until I felt like I had enough to start it, making three posts a day every day. At first, I was posting in those aforementioned cesspools too, but they were a waste of time, so I just quit those places and left them to their bitterness. The only big social media I was on was Facebook. I planned on posting on Instagram too, but Meta Business Suite crops posts to fit on the Instagram ratio. Screenshots of movies got butchered, so I scrapped the idea of using it. I pondered using Twitter, but I was never very fond of it. From the start, I wanted to make a blog as a backup, because I knew a lot would get removed from social media (and I was right), and just scheduling posts for the blog and Facebook was already time-consuming enough, so I scrapped the idea of using Twitter as well. The whole thing started for real on 28 August 2022.
I also pondered using WordPress, but I really don't like their design, even though their indexing is way better. They are too focused on modern minimalist boring style, and it took me two hours to figure out how to make a damn side column. Instead, they want you to have those introduction screens and stuff. Blogspot is great, and its customization also works well. There is a lot of custom HTML and CSS codes in this very blog, although it's a bit of a bummer that I can't share its link on Facebook.
In September 2023 the page was going very well, so I decided to increase the posting rate to four times a day. And as for this blog, until January 2024 it was just what I said before: a backup. Just a black background and grey text. The posts with their tags but no other info whatsoever. Then I stumbled upon some gifs from way back that took me on a nostalgic trip down Web 1.0 memory lane, and I decided to put some work here, making it what it is now.
In September 2024, I decided to add a Guestbook, a small feature I guess no one is ever going to see, and that perhaps is coming too late, since I already had two years' worth of random visitors. By October 2024, I already had about 40,000 followers on Facebook, but as the platform is run by prude neurotic puritan fucks, I got a bunch of strikes over time because of artwork containing nipples (even though their guidelines say it's ok) and I stopped being recommended, and got my reach screwed. I was basically posting to no one, so I started a new page in November 2024, that has no reach either.
Anyway, I don't plan on promoting the blog further. It's just a random corner of the internet that I hope will make some random lost surfer happy.
